Gear List

Here is my 2011 Colorado Trail Gear List! For those of you interested in such things, I gave more specific information and the weight of each object at the bottom of the page.

EDIT: I forgot to include a few photos of important items, such as my rain gear and whatnot-- I apologize!

My Blaze AC 60 Backpack. With food for five days and everything else inside it, it will weigh about 36 pounds.

My Zephyr 1 Tent, waterproofed and ready to go. Here's me preparing in my yard.

My cooking utensils-- spork, windscreen, pot, and fuel bottle

My stove-- yes, it is indeed made out of a beer can. Weighs about an ounce and works perfectly!

My stove and cooking items in action. That damn beer can burns like a mofo!

My Northface Cat's Meow sleeping bag and Thermarest Z-Lite sleeping pad beneath it.

First Aid Kit-- Bandaids, Gauze, Superglue, Needle, Tweezers, Emergency Water Filtration, Emergency Blanket, Lighter (w/ Duct Tape wrapped around it), 15 Feet of Rope, Whistle, Compass, Matches, Antibiotics, Burn Relief, Sting Relief, Electrolyte Tablets, Moleskin (for blisters)

Hygiene Kit-- Contacts, Contact Fluid, Shampoo, Tooth Brush/Tooth Paste, Sunscreen, Advil, Hand Sanitizer (also used for starting fires), Dental Floss (also used as sewing thread)

Luxury/Survival Items-- GPS, Cell Phone, Guidebook, Camera and Charger (works also with Cell Phone), Journal, Knife, Headlamp. Not pictured: The first 300 pages of Stephen King's "The Stand"-- (the rest is coming later). Yep.. going to be reading a book about a post-apocalyptic world while I'm all alone in the middle of the woods... at night... great idea, Josh.

Water System-- Platypus 3 Liter Water Holder, Katadyn Water Filter

Hiking Poles-- the right one already broke. Damn you, Grandfather Mountain!

Clothes-- yes, it's still going to be 30 degrees in some areas of Colorado. Pictured: Gloves, Fleece Hat, Three Pairs of Socks, Two Pairs of Shorts, Bandana

More Clothes: Stoic Merino Wool Shirt, North Face Polyester Shirt, Mont Bell Parka, Marmot Driclime Jacket

Boots: My Rocky TrailStalkers. Awww, yeah!
